This year’s FEST was off to an energetic start with the Alan Bernstein Distinguished Lecture. The President of the Insitute of Medicine, Dr. Harvey Fineberg, was the 2012 recipient of this honorable lecture, and his address “The Power of Knowledge to Influence Policy: Lessons from the Institute of Medicine” drew in a full house!
FEST Chair Dr. Gordon Francis thanked Dr. Fineberg for his insightful lecture, and in true West Coast hospitality, presented the honoured guest with a paddle designed by a local artist.
