The FEST 2014 Scientific Symposium co-chairs are pleased to announce the recipient of the British Columbia Lecture, Dr. B. Brett Finlay. A Professor in the Michael Smith Laboratories, and the Departments of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, and Microbiology and Immunology at the University of British Columbia, Dr. Finlay has made huge contributions to medicine and science by combining cell biology with microbiology. In doing so, he has been at the forefront of the emerging field called Cellular Microbiology and has earned himself a reputation as a true innovator.
Dr. Finlay is a well-deserving recipient of the British Columbia Lecture, which was established in the spirit of excellence and innovation emanating from many loci throughout the provinces’ circulatory and respiratory community, as well as from national and international centres.
